We did get up this morning and prepared for today’s ride. We were crossing the St. Lawrence River today at Trois Rivieres so we had to meet Greg just before the bridge. We left the camp and had a very nice easy ride to Trois Rivieres.
Greg arrived early a mall parking lot and was able to park. I arrived and we had just got a coffee when Nancy and Dave arrived. They had a quick coffee and we were just going to walk across the road to get our water bottles refilled and some guy who thought he was somebody was kind of unhappy with us taking up 7 spots at the far end of the parking lot outside of a Value Village. So Greg pulled the trailer over to another part of the lot and the rest of us got the water.
The crossing does not allow bikes or pedestrians. I read about the shuttle and I think it was way easier to have Greg meet us. Also it was nice to have a coffee with him and a short break. We loaded our bikes in the trailer and over we went. What an old bridge and narrow. I caught myself golden my on to the arm rest. Haha. Mike would have liked bed this bridge! NOT! We took the first exit on the other side and unloaded and started our second part of the day.
The small towns alongside the River are very quaint.
Nice old buildings and tons of churches. Being Sunday I expected everything to be closed but most stores were open. I guess things have changed here in Quebec.
I took a different route than Nancy and Dave and went through some farmlands and backroads. Only 2.2 km of dirt this time and no muck!
It was a great route and a little t of smaller communities and no traffic. I think I had 2 cars pass in an hour. Was great. Was by the river a lot too. So I got the best of both worlds.
Arrived at the campsite for the night after going down a 17% dirt grade to beside the river. I don’t think I am riding up that in the morning. Greg was busy doing laundry so I went back to the other end of the campsite to shower and do the last loads. Totally out of biking kits and socks! Huge campsite, actually very nice right beside the river. But a lot of people and more arriving as the day goes on.
After we came back from shower/laundry Nancy nd Dave had arrived and Dave was booking campsites for this next week. We are now booked till next Friday on our route. Greg and Dave made a deal after we lost Mike. Dave would do all the bookings for campsites (which we had listed for most of them from planning we did during the winter, but our route has changed as well) and Greg would do the sewage dump. Not sure who got the better end of that deal💩💦🤪! Haha!
Nancy and Dave went to shower and wash clothes. No pictures of Nancy today as she was Intercontinental as we called her. Mixed kits as the rest were soiled. Top from Italy and shorts from Mexico! They are also on dinner duty tonight so Greg and I get to relax.

It was a nice afternoon watching the freighters go by.
Dinner and early bed...again.
Thanks for reading! Heidi
