XCAN Day 63 To Rivière-du-Loup

Distance:               97.41 km
Time:                    3:11
Elevation:             373
Weather:               Perfect,  Overcast but muggy in am and then sunny in afternoon
with amazing tailwinds!!!
Flats:                    0
Bathroom:           5

I must say, today was one of the most spectacular days on the trip.

The scenery was gorgeous and endless.  Across beautiful fields beside the St Lawrence and then you climb a small hill and there is this wonderful old town.  Wow.  Wow Wow!!!

It also didn't hurt that the tailwinds pushed us along at an amazing pace...so even with riding slowly through the towns we averaged over 30K per hour.

Along the way I met Andrew, who is from New Zealand and is finishing his trans Canada trip.  He did the western provinces 2 years ago and 4 weeks ago he started in Winnipeg to finish off.  Had a great talk and we both stated how amazing the roads, trails and people are in Quebec!  No big trucks and it is posted everywhere that you must be 1.5 M away from a cyclist when you pass.   That along with the bike routes....Quebec so far is the best!

So much to see and take in along the way.  I didn't do well with pictures today.  I feel sad for Greg, as he was on the Trans Canada so was not able to see these smaller places.  However, starting tomorrow he will be on 132 as well...so that will be nice for him and maybe be able to meet up for coffee along the way!

When I arrived at the trailer I had a quick lunch and we headed out to pick up a few supplies and water.  Just as we were going into the grocery store it was spitting...then I guess while we were shopping it poured but was all over by the time we came out.  It was enough to get Nancy and Dave nice and wet on their final approach to the trailer as they stopped for lunch along the way.

A nice walk to the Quay/Jetty before dinner, a nice steak dinner and then blog time and bed I think.

As you can see above in the title I can't remember off the top of my head where we started this morning.    Here are a few of the things you hear around our trailer.
What day of the week is it?
Where did we stay last night?
How many km are we riding today?
How much elevation is there?  (Nancy asks and we never know cause garmin lies)
Remember 4 days ago....no Dave that was 2 weeks ago.
Is there water?
Where are we going today?
And around and around we go!!!  We are calling it Bike Brain!

Anyway....Loving the journey...and with days like today....Wow!
