After our visit fro Bob, Nettie, and Phil from PLP bike club we got off to a lazy start. It was beautiful crossing the river out of our campground.
Another flat Prairie day with winds from west and north. Mike had a sore back and opted for riding in the truck,
Heidi rode a bit with Terry from Kelowna who is biking to raise funds and pulling a trailer behind him. Nancy chatted with him the day before. Our campsite (Town and Country) is in the south east corner of Winnipeg close to the Perimeter highway and #1 and Heidi chose to ride the Perimeter while Nancy and Dave rode through town. A trip down memory lane for us as we lived in Winnipeg for three years 12 years ago. We rode into Erick Oland's running store (City Park Runners) for a visit (glad to see it's the same colour we helped paint it 12 years ago), then through Assiniboine Park, Wellington Crescent before going through St Boniface and out to our campground. Other than the campground, these are all areas we ran through while training in Winnipeg. After a short stop for showers we went out for dinner at InFerno's Bistro in St Boniface, one of our favourite restaurants when we lived there. It's grown since our last visit and now boasts a large patio area that we took advantage of for the evening, seated at the Tiki Hut table....very special location!
Great wine, great food had by all, a really enjoyable day and evening.
