The term rest day is a bit of a misnomer since it is filled with doing laundry, cleaning bikes, shopping, and a trip the nearest bike shop. At the bike shop in The Soo, they provide free camping for cyclists and we ran into Gilles again, someone we have met several times on this trip who is also doing the cross-Canada trip but unsupported.
We did have a special supper to celebrate the half-way point in our ride. If you are looking for a good meal in The Soo, the Vinotecca restaurant in the Quatro hotel is very good.
Anyway, 39 days, 3884 kms in we are half-way through our journey and cause for celebration.
