XCAN Day 41 Rainbow Falls to Marathon Penn Lake

Distance:           110.06
Time:                 4:50
Elevation:          1246
Weather:            Sunny but cool which was good.
Flats:                 0
Bathroom Rating:  9/10

We left Rainbow Falls park and it was chilly in the trees but as soon as we got on the road it warmed up nicely.  Also we started off with a hill as soon as we left camp....which actually set the tone for the day.

Greg checked out ahead on the way to Marathon, and there was no place to stop along for coffee.  Too bad.   I spent the day chasing Nancy and Dave as hills are not my forte.  I will get better at them soon!!???  There was an awful lot of Nancy saying to Dave on the hills...go faster!!!

We had some nice views at the beginning and stopped at an amazing  Aguasabon Falls in Terrace Bay for a view.

We had glimpses of Lake Superior from the highway and enjoyed the other small lake along the way.

It was a tougher ride today....we also had a headwind which made coming down some of the hills fun.   Seemed like you were crawling.

Murray....Nancy has been talking giant hogweed for a week.  She took a picture today of something that may or may not be giant hogweed!

Short stops every half hour until we reached Penn Lake.  To get to Marathon you go DOWN off the highway for 5 km.  So we do know what we have first thing in the morning to warm up.

Nancy and Dave made dinner and it was great.  We have had to switch up our rotation of cooking and cleanup now.  We decided to do cooking and cleanup all in one...so the other couple actually get a day off.

Talked to Mike this evening...and he is still doing well.  Resting and will see what tomorrow brings for him.

There are some bugs...but not too bad.  AS I am sitting out in the field close to the internet router typing this and getting the blog caught up for Nancy and Dave as well....as Nancy sits inside bug free!   Hmmm.  What is wrong with this picture!!!

Hello to all...and we are loving the comments!!!
