We got up this morning, which is a good thing, and just as we were having breakfast and nice thunder and lightning storm with amazing rain came through. We looked at the radar and it looked like it would pass in a couple of hours. So the men headed out to pick up a few groceries...and another pot of coffee went on.
Like clockwork...the rain stopped so we packed up. Roads were not that wet...I think with the wind it drys them quickly. We all headed out just before 11 am and Greg did too.
Funny thing, Greg and I hooked up the trailer this morning...and I guess someone forgot to put the bar for hooking up the sway bars away. We have almost misplaced that bar a few times...so I picked up some bright paint and painted it way back in BC. Anyway...it must have been sitting on top of the batteries...and when Greg was driving down the road, about 50 M past Mike...this bar fell off. Mike says Greg threw it at him. Anyway Mike picked it up and texted Greg that he had the bar. When Greg arrived at Ignace and was setting up he looked all over for the bar and had to use a wrench to unhook. He was just about to head into town and look for a bar or something that would work when he saw the text from Mike. He was wondering why Mike would take it on his bike! Anyway...when I arrived and Greg was telling me the story...we figured out it must not have been put away and fallen off....which poor Mike confirmed when he arrived after lugging this thing for 100 K. Fun on the road!!
The ride today was pretty...scenery is again different today. No animals were seen, except Greg saw an Otter and Nancy saw something wounded in the middle of the road.
The headwind made for a bit longer of a day. Along with the shoulder of the road being about 2 feet beside the white line...made riding a bit more tense today. Just glad there were no rumble strips to deal with as well. I did stop and check my wheels a few times...to see if they were actually turning freely....but I guess it was just the headwinds slowing you down.
The sun came out around 1 pm...and there was nowhere past 30K to buy water or stop for coffee. So we dealt with what we had. It was nice to have an Ice Cold drink when I arrived at the trailer.
I actually went for a swim...first one on the trip. Small little lake at the campsite but water was cool and refreshing before a shower.
Nancy and Dave were on dinner duty tonight and made a nice pasta....a bit of wine was consumed. Finished off Mike and our laundry and then sorted out and into bed.
Another good day. All are well.
Thanks for reading! Heidi
